The Draft Haines Borough Comprehensive Safety Action Plan (CSAP) is now available for public review and comment.
Since Fall 2025, the Safe Streets for All (SS4A) project team has worked with community members, local organizations, and agency partners to better understand transportation safety needs throughout the Haines Borough. Community input, along with crash and safety data and technical analysis, has helped shape the projects, strategies, and recommendations included in the draft plan.
We’re asking the community to take a look and let us know what you think.
Did we capture the transportation safety issues that matter to you? Is there something we missed? Do you have feedback on a project or recommendation? Comments received during this review period will be considered as the project team prepares the final CSAP.
The Draft CSAP will also be introduced to the Haines Borough Planning Commission at its meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 20. Community members are encouraged to attend to learn more about the plan and the next steps in the process.
You can find the draft CSAP here as well as under the “Documents” tab. Please submit comments by August 31, 2026, to ss4a@proHNS.com.
Thank you to everyone who has participated in the process so far. Your input has been an important part of developing this plan, and we appreciate your help in making sure the final CSAP reflects the transportation safety needs and priorities of the Haines community.
